Frequently asked questions

What is ElCargo?
ElCargo is a 3D container-loading and cargo-planning tool. It shows importers, exporters, and logistics teams exactly how their boxes and pallets fit inside a shipping container, with an auto-load algorithm and shareable stuffing plans.
How do I plan how boxes fit inside a shipping container?
Add your boxes and pallets with their dimensions and weights, pick a container, and let ElCargo place them automatically in an interactive 3D view. You can rearrange anything by hand and see the loaded space, weight, and stability update instantly.
How do I calculate container load capacity?
ElCargo works out how much of a container your cargo fills — by volume and by weight — as you add items, and warns you before you exceed a container's weight limit. No spreadsheets or manual maths.
Can I create a container stuffing plan I can share with my team?
Yes. Every plan can span multiple containers, tracks weight per container, and produces a full loading summary you can share with a link so your warehouse or freight forwarder loads it exactly as planned.
How do I get started with ElCargo?
Create an account, add your boxes and pallets, and build your first 3D loading plan. ElCargo is a subscription service — sign in to choose a plan and start loading.
Which container sizes does ElCargo support?
ElCargo supports the standard dry containers — 20-foot, 40-foot, and 40-foot high-cube — and you can also define a custom container with your own dimensions and weight limit.
Can ElCargo handle pallets as well as loose boxes?
Yes. Build reusable pallet templates, stack boxes onto them, and load whole pallets into a container — or mix palletised and loose cargo in the same plan.
Does ElCargo track cargo weight and container weight limits?
Yes. Every item carries a weight, and ElCargo totals it per container against the payload limit, warning you before you go over and flagging a load that isn't balanced.
Can I share a loading plan with my warehouse or freight forwarder?
Yes. Each plan has a shareable link and a clear loading summary, so whoever loads the container sees exactly what goes where.
Do I need to install anything to use ElCargo?
No. ElCargo runs entirely in your web browser — the 3D view, the auto-load, and your saved plans — with nothing to download or install.
